I agree that massive government spending had a lot to do with the inflation of the 1970s, but I don't see how Reagan gets credit for ending it. If Johnson and Nixon had been willing to raise taxes to cover the costs, we would not have had such inflation in the first place. It took Fed Chair Paul Volcker's huge interest rate hikes to curb inflation, at the cost of a significant recession. I hope we're not repeating the whole scenario again now.
In terms of pronouns, I have generational trouble adopting them, but no objection to individuals being able to choose how they would like to be referred to. I'm not sure how following their lead manipulates our common language to anyone's political advantage. It's just a matter of respect.
